Many clients have advised us that they have seen an increase in the number of hire enquiries for use during the Olympic period.
We held a joint seminar with UK Screen in August 2011, to reiterate the importance of key pre-hire checks with new customers and particularly overseas production companies, coming to the UK for the Olympics.
A copy of our guidelines on pre-hire checks is available on our website, stringent checks continue to be an absolute must.
Fraudulent Hire Email Alerts
Allan Chapman & James regularly issue fraudulent hire email alerts notifying facilities companies of suspect fraudsters. If you know anyone who would like to be added to this circulation list, please ask them to email email@example.com.

FRADULENT HIRE ATTEMPT
We have again been advised of a recent fraudulent theft attempt, which bears the hallmarks of the scam using the BBC's name as per our alerts of 24 May and 6 March 2012.
It would appear that several hire companies have received the same, if not very similar, emails with a request for 2 Sony PDW800s to rent for one week starting today, 6 July 2012.
The email has come from an email address "firstname.lastname@example.org", the address has been checked with the BBC who have confirmed it has nothing to do with BBC Post Production Services. Again, they have also used BBC telephone numbers and an extension number.
Please ensure you check all BBC purchase order numbers and individual names directly with the BBC before agreeing to any hire.
